Liam Lawson is aiming to consolidate Racing Bull’s position as midfield leader following a double points-scoring finish for the team at the Formula 1 Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.
Lawson and Racing Bulls enjoyed a competitive showing in Spain, with both cars finishing in the points.
The Kiwi and rookie teammate Arvid Lindblad have begun the season in fine form, with the former sitting 10th in the Drivers’ Championship standings, after making Barcelona his fifth points finish in the seven races completed.
Despite the sport’s new technical regulations causing some shifts in teams’ competitiveness across the grid, Racing Bulls looks once again to be in contention for being the best of the midfield.
With Alpine currently being its most serious contender in that regard, Lawson acknowledged its strengths but conveyed his hope that the Faenza-based squad will continue to show its own strengths across the remaining Grands Prix, as well as improving its race pace.

“Yeah, for us it’s good,” Lawson said. “It’s a long season; we have a lot of races to go. Alpine have had some good races recently and scored some good points.
“But yeah, if we keep this trend – obviously we had a quick car in qualifying – hopefully that translates to the rest of the season.
“I think Barcelona is normally quite a good sign for that, so we just need to sort out the race car.”
Lawson put up one of his best performances of the 2025 season at the Red Bull Ring, and will no doubt be aiming for a repeat when F1 returns to the circuit for the Austrian Grand Prix next week.
