Nic Hamilton wants to keep pushing on after the British Touring Car Championship‘s summer break, having scored points at Oulton Park and won the Jack Sears Trophy at Snetterton.

The last three weekends for the Team VERTU man have been his best in the BTCC to date. He collected a much-deserved trophy at Snetterton, winning the Jack Sears, and also picked up four points during Oulton Park’s Race 3.

For those unfamiliar, the Jack Sears Trophy is a competition for drivers without a podium before the start of the season, awarded each race weekend to the top performer and at the end of the season in traditional championship style.

The trophy marked the first of his tin-top racing career, while his run from Brands Hatch in May to Oulton Park in July shows his most consistent form to date.

“The final race was a great way to end a tricky weekend, and I’m pleased to have been able to put some more points on the board at the end of it,” he told Team VERTU’s media.

“Although Saturday proved to be challenging with the way the qualifying race ended, I was nearly a second quicker than I had been last season in the earlier session, which was a sign of the continued progress I’m making.

“I can use the break now before Thruxton to reflect on what has been a positive start to the year, and aim to keep progressing when we return to action.”

Tin-top action returns on July 25th at Thruxton, with ITV’s FIFA World Cup broadcasting schedule forcing racing into an earlier-than-usual summer break.

And Hamilton will be raring for it to return. His maiden campaign in the VERTU Hyundai has already matched his BTCC-best in 2023, where Team HARD’s collapse cut a 10-point season short.
