Brands Hatch GP‘s Race 2 saw Tom Ingram take back-to-back British Touring Car Championship victories, as Mikey Doble claimed the Independents’ Trophy.
Starting from pole after Race 1 success, Ingram led the field away through Paddock Hill on the mandated-mediums. Doble, Daryl De Leon, and Ricky Collard were the only runners near the front to opt to use their option softs ahead of Race 3.
Ash Sutton dove down the inside of Aiden Moffat at Paddock Hill, making slight contact but getting the move into P4 done by Druids. And, by the end of the first lap, Ingram had already managed a gap of over a second to the field.
Moffat had another moment at Paddock Hill with an excursion into the gravel on lap 2 as the rear of his Audi stepped out, though he would rejoin in P7 behind his teammate.
Sutton once again used Paddock Hill to his advantage on lap four, slinging himself down the inside of Collard’s Hyundai and climbing to P3, renewing a feisty battle from Race 1.
De Leon would also get by Collard one lap later for P4, with the soft tyres switching on and providing great traction for the BMW out of the slower-speed Surtees corner.
Árón Taylor-Smith continued an eventful weekend by once again finding himself in a scrap – this time sending Gordon Shedden into the gravel at Paddock hill on lap 6. Shedden would complete the lap, but retired the next with his hopes of Independents’ Trophy victory dashed.
The highlights of the race came in the mid-pack, in the mid-stages. A fierce battle including the likes of Moffat, Dan Lloyd, and Adam Morgan saw the CPRL Mercedes head wide at Brands Hatch as all involved tried to get past Moffat.
Dexter Patterson would then get himself past Lloyd as the Restart Racing Hyundai started to fade with a few laps to go. But, in yet-another example of Restart Racing’s 2026 fortunes, only one car was truly able to thrive as Chris Smiley found himself in P18 after Race 1 damage destined him for back-pack struggles.
Much like Race 1, the action would calm as the race evolved. And, at the flag, Ingram claimed his second win of the weekend as the results also saw Doble crowned Independents’ Trophy victor.
Josh Cook finished P2, with Sutton completing the podium. Doble finished P4 in a result that also saw the race’s Independents’ victory, with De Leon, Dan Cammish, Collard, Moffat, Patterson, and Sam Osborne rounding out the fastest 10.
Completing the points were Morgan, Tom Chilton, Lewis Selby, Dan Rowbottom, and Lewis Gilbert.
