Ducati’s Marc Marquez secured his third Sprint victory of the 2026 MotoGP season with a dominant display at Balaton Park.

Marquez obliterated the field on Saturday afternoon in the Sprint race at Balaton Park as he led the race from the start until the chequered flag.

The Spaniard claimed pole position on Saturday morning and backed it up in the afternoon with his victory in the Sprint.

At the chequered flag, it was Pedro Acosta who secured second place, and X who crossed the line in third place.

At the start of the Sprint, Marquez grabbed the holeshot and led from Acosta and Bezzecchi on the opening lap.

The biggest movers on the first lap were Diogo Moreira and Enea Bastianini, who made their way into the top ten.

On Lap 2, Bezzecchi and Aldeguer were engaged in a battle for second place as Marquez and Acosta broke away at the front.

As Bezzecchi continued to battle with Aldeguer on Lap 3, his teammate, Jorge Martin, ran off the track and dropped back to seventh place.

The battle for third dropped off as Aldeguer made a mistake whilst following Bezzecchi and dropped back to fifth place on Lap 4.

By Lap 5, Marquez had extended his lead to two seconds over Acosta and was consistently extending his lead over his fellow Spaniard.

On Lap 7, the top five in the Sprint race consisted of Marquez, Acosta, Bezzecchi, Raul Fernandez, and Aldeguer.

Bezzecchi’s hold on third place began to slip on Lap 9, as Fernandez and Aldeguer were closing in on the Italian rider.

Aldeguer ruined his chances of a podium as he made a mistake while following Fernandez, and dropped off the back of fourth place, but remained in fifth.

On the final lap of the race, it was Marquez who crossed the line first to secure victory on Saturday afternoon at Balaton Park.

Acosta did not challenge for the victory, but controlled second place for the whole of the Sprint race.

Completing the podium was the Aprilia Racing rider, Bezzecchi, who crossed the line in third place for the Italian manufacturer.

Fernandez and Aldeguer rounded out the top five in the Sprint race, with the Trackhouse and Gresini riders unable to fight for the podium.

Martin missed out on a spot in the top five as he finished in sixth, with Moreira in seventh, and Bastianini in eighth.

Rounding out the point-scoring positions was Francesco Bagnaia, who held on to ninth place after battling with Fabio Di Giannantonio, who finished in tenth.

Ai Ogura missed out on the top ten as he finished in 11th, and Luca Marini was in 12th place for the factory Honda squad.

The Pramac Racing riders finished the race outside of the points with Toprak Razgatlioglu in 13th and Jack Miller in 14th.

Joan Mir, Brad Binder, and Fabio Quartararo finished the Sprint Race in 15th, 16th, and 17th places.

On his return to MotoGP, Iker Lecuona ended the Sprint in 18th on the Gresini Racing Ducati, with Maverick Vinales in 19th, Franco Morbidelli in 20th, and Alex Rins in 21st.

Cal Crutchlow was the final finisher as the British rider crossed the line in 22nd place as he continues to replace Johann Zarco at LCR Honda.
