Valtteri Bottas‘ race-worn Australian Grand Prix helmet, marking his Formula 1 return with Cadillac, is set to be auctioned.
The Finnish racing driver made his comeback with F1’s official 11th team on the grid, Cadillac, at the start of the 2026 campaign.
Dropped by Sauber (now Audi) at the end of 2024, Bottas was Mercedes’ reserve driver for the 2025 season.
He marked his comeback with Cadillac at the race at the Albert Park Circuit for the season-opening Australian GP.
The helmet he wore during the race weekend is now up for auction by F1 Authentics.
A special moment for Valtteri Bottas
Speaking about how special the moment was for him, he told media including Motorsport Week, “Having one year of not racing, you definitely appreciate everything about this sport more, and being on the grid is a different feeling.
“I definitely have a better perspective of the sport and will appreciate it much more than I did two years ago, so hopefully that will help me.”
The auction is now live on F1 Authentics’ website, and at the time of writing the bid stands at $5,300.
“My race worn helmet from Melbourne this year. My first ever race for Cadillac (and) my first ever race for GM [General Motors],” he added.
“A big moment for me, making my return to Formula One, this piece is something special and now, it could be yours.
“It will be auctioned by F1 Authentics, which is the only licensed platform, during the Miami weekend, so check it out. It’s a really important piece for me and it’s going to be amazing to share it with you.”
Bottas has endured a difficult, but expected, start to life as a Cadillac F1 driver. Next up is the Miami GP, marking Bottas’ fourth race since his comeback.
