Lando Norris topped the second free practice session for the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, ahead of title rival Max Verstappen.
The Brit enters the weekend 12 points ahead of Verstappen, and after going quickest in FP1, did so again as the sun went down on the Yas Marina Circuit.
His 1:23.083s was faster than the Red Bull man’s time by over three tenths, just ahead of the Mercedes of George Russell.
The session largely concluded without incident, but an early mix-up between Verstappen and Norris left a sour taste in the Brit’s mouth.
Early in the hour, Verstappen, on a cool down lap, was on the racing line, and was told by race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase that Norris was approaching, but not on a push lap.
He very quickly retracted the statement, confirming Norris indeed was on a push lap, and the Dutchman swiftly moved over, but Norris was already irked.
The stewards placed both under investigation but concluded that there was no further action.

Oliver Bearman, who, during the session, told his Haas team that he could not believe how good his car felt, was fourth.
The Saubers of Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto fifth and sixth, in what is the Swiss squad’s final Grand Prix before it transitions to Sauber for 2026.
Isack Hadjar, in his final race for Racing Bulls, was seventh-fastest, Charles Leclerc was eighth with Fernando Alonso ninth.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli was 10th, with the third title protagonist, Oscar Piastri, a lowly 11th.
Lance Stroll was 12th, ahead of Carlos Sainz, Lewis Hamilton and Alex Albon, with Esteban Ocon 16th, and Yuki Tsunoda, in his last F1 race for the time being, 17th.
Liam Lawson was 19th, with the Alpines of Franco Colapinto and Pierre Gasly propping the order in 19th and 20th.
