Sergio Perez has issued a rallying call to the Cadillac Formula 1 team’s personnel in his first visit to the its Silverstone headquarters.

The Mexican veteran is making his return to the sport next year with the American marque, after a one-year hiatus after his firing from Red Bull at the conclusion of last season.

Perez will be joined by fellow F1 stalwart Valtteri Bottas, the pair bringing the much-needed experience the team needs as it embarks on its debut F1 season.

The 35-year-old, who was announced along with Bottas in its driver line-up for 2026 last month, arrived in the UK to see the team’s base and meet staff for the first time.

In a post on the team’s Instagram account, a visitor’s lanyard bearing Perez’s face and name was posted, followed by a video of him in the building, coupled by the words: “He’s here!”

A following video was posted of Perez stood with Cadillac Team Principal Graeme Lowdon, speaking to assembled members of the team in what was described as a briefing.

And with a microphone in his hand, Perez delivered his motivational message.

“It’s obviously important to start properly, you know?

“[But] for me, it’s a little bit irrelevant of where we start. It’s where we finish.”

The visit is part of a two-nation tour of Cadillac’s hubs, as Perez had recently confirmed he would also take in the team’s other base in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Perez is due to partake in a full on-track test at some point soon, with the team given allowances to complete a Testing of Previous Cars programme, despite being a brand new outfit.

Given it will run Ferrari engines next year, ahead of a planned move to its own works power in the future, it is thought that Perez, a former Ferrari junior driver, will take the reins of one of the Maranello squad’s old cars to get him, and the team, up to speed.
