Lance Stroll was less than talkative during his post-race media appearance at Formula 1‘s Italian Grand Prix, after what was a tough weekend for the Canadian.

Stroll was eliminated in Q1 and started the race at Monza in 17th place, with Aston Martin team-mate Fernando Alonso making it into Q3 and lining up ninth.

With Alonso retiring early on due to a rear suspension failure, Aston’s hopes rested on Stroll to try and salvage something from the race.

But it was not to be, with Stroll finishing 18th – the last car still running to make it across the line.

The team had opted to put Stroll on a one-stop strategy, lasting virtually the whole race on one set of tyres.

He also had to contend with an on-track incident with Haas’ Esteban Ocon, in which the Frenchman forced Stroll off the road at the Variante della Roggia chicane.

For Stroll, there was little to say in his post-race debrief with the media, including Motorsport Week.

“Yep,” he replied when it was put to him that his tyre gamble hadn’t worked.

When asked whether he had any further thoughts on the race, and if he felt Ocon had squeezed him off the road, Stroll left the air dead amid silence.

“Not much,” was his response to being pressed on if there were any positives to take away from his weekend.

Finally, when probed on whether he agreed with Ocon’s five-second penalty for his role in the incident, Stroll responded: “I don’t have anything to say about it.”

And with that, Stroll left, leaving the media to find the next target of their questioning.

Stroll, known for being a man of few words, was similarly unwilling to articulate his feelings at the last round in the Netherlands.

After spinning off the track and crashing during qualifying at Zandvoort, Stroll had few words for reporters on that occasion, before storming off mid-question.
