Red Bull has seen more personnel depart in the wake of Christian Horner’s sacking, with two men thought to be allies of the former Formula 1 Team Principal leaving.
Horner was removed from his post on Wednesday, the team stating that he had been “released from his operational duties with effect from today.”
The 51-year-old was both Team Principal and CEO of the Milton Keynes-based squad, of which he was in charge for the entirety of its 20 years in F1.
Now the team has decided to remove other key figures in Group Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer Oliver Hughes, and Director of Communications Paul Smith.
Both men were thought to be allies of Horner, and the move is said to be a shift towards more centralised operations that could run from its home country Austria, rather than the UK base which it has used since its inception in 2005.
Red Bull has seemingly suffered numerous fissures in its high-ranking F1 personnel over the last year, with the likes of Sporting Director Jonathan Wheatley and Technical Director Adrian Newey leaving for rival teams.
It now remains to be seen if the longstanding key figures will have long-term futures at the team, including Head of Racing – and Max Verstappen’s race engineer – Gianpiero Lambiase, and Newey’s successor, Pierre Wache.
