Marc Marquez untouchable in second Aragon MotoGP practice

Marc Marquez was untouchable as he topped the charts in Friday’s second Aragon MotoGP practice session.

The Spaniard topped the hour-long session throughout and secured the best time of 1.46.397s, setting an all-time lap record in the process.

Alex Marquez finished once again as his nearest challenger as he posted a lap time of only 0.2s adrift aboard his Gresini Ducati.

After the Marquez domination, the rest of the top ten were separated by only 0.3s, showcasing how closely compact the field are at this track.

Tech3 KTM rider Maverick Vinales and Honda rider Joan Mir posted identical laps to finish third and fourth place, respectively.

Pedro Acosta followed closely by to secure fifth spot, with LCR Honda rider Johann Zarco wedged inbetween the factory KTM riders.

Brad Binder secured a much-needed seventh after a difficult outing at the previous round at Silverstone.

Fermin Aldeguer ensured both Gresini riders will feature in Q2, followed closely by VR46 Academy riders Francesco Bagnaia and Franco Morbidelli.

Silverstone race winner Marco Bezzecchi and Sprint podium finisher Fabio Di Giannantonio were next in line and missed out by under 0.030s.

Enea Bastianini secured 13th for KTM, lapping quicker than Trackhouse rider Raul Fernandez.

Yamaha showed its lack of speed as Alex Rins, Jack Miller, Augusto Fernandez and Fabio Quartararo occupied 15th through 18th.

Lorenzo Savadori produced a quicker lap than Pramac’s Miguel Oliveira, before Somkiat Chantra closed out proceedings.
