Red Bull CEO and Team Principal Christian Horner has confirmed his long-term and “absolute commitment” to the Milton Keynes-based Formula 1 outfit.

Horner has been the figurehead of Red Bull’s success since its inception as he was hired to helm the team at the age of 31 upon its 2005 debut as the sport’s youngest Team Principal.

He has since overseen eight Drivers’ titles and six Constructors’ titles as Red Bull has developed into one of F1’s juggernauts.

Next up is one of Red Bull and Horner’s biggest challenges yet as the team takes on producing its own power unit for the new 2026 regulations, taking on experienced OEMs Ferrari and Mercedes amid Honda splitting off to power Aston Martin.

Amid the development of Red Bull Powertrains, Horner has committed to leading Red Bull for several years to come.

“I’ve got a commitment to Red Bull to the end of the decade,” Horner revealed to RacingNews365.

“My commitment remains absolute.”

Engine project is Red Bull’s ‘biggest challenge in 20 years’ – Horner

Horner’s 2024 season began with allegations of misconduct by a female employee, of which he was cleared.

Amid persistent questioning from sections of the media and pressures from the likes of Jos Verstappen claiming he should step aside, Horner was unwavering, focussing on his commitments to Red Bull.

Horner admitted to PlanetF1 that stepping away was never on the cards.

“I’ve never, ever had that thought cross my mind, to be honest with you,” he said.

“There’s a very exciting next chapter coming up with Red Bull Powertrains – it’s the biggest challenge we’ve taken on in the 20 years that we’ve been in the sport.

“I think the next chapter is potentially one of the most exciting chapters. You’re always learning in this business.”

Not only did Horner face criticism from the likes of Jos Verstappen, but prior to being cleared of the misconduct allegations, fellow team bosses Zak Brown and Toto Wolff weighed in on the conversation.

Horner took it all in his stride, unperturbed by the war of words being conducted by his peers.

“You have to be pretty thick skinned in this business, and you just have to keep focused on your beliefs and commitments,” he said.

“We have a tremendous workforce, we have tremendous loyalty within the workforce, and passion for what people do.

“Without that passion, you wouldn’t achieve the kind of results that we have.”
