Sauber and Racing Bulls will ramp up their respective preparations for the 2025 Formula 1 season this week with both teams going to Imola to partake in a multi-day test.
Racing Bulls is set to spend three days at the Italian venue which lies close to the side’s Faenza base, with 2025 drivers Yuki Tsunoda and Isack Hadjar getting laps in.
Tsunoda, having missed out on a Red Bull promotion, will embark on his fifth season with the team, while Hadjar will be making his F1 debut as Liam Lawson’s replacement.
The duo will drive the 2023 AT04 from when it ran under the AlphaTauri moniker, with reserve driver Ayumu Iwasa also getting the chance to accrue more mileage in an F1 car.
But Racing Bulls won’t be alone as Sauber will also have access to the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari as the team encounters its final campaign prior to rebranding to Audi.

The Hinwil-based squad’s revised driver line-up comprising veteran Nico Hulkenberg and newcomer Gabriel Bortoleto will turn laps in the team’s 2022 challenger, the C42.
Bortoleto and Hulkenberg, who represented Sauber at last month’s post-season test in Abu Dhabi, will share the venue with Racing Bulls on Wednesday and Thursday.
Sauber and RB’s mileage will be deducted from the 1000km total that teams are now permitted in previous-spec cars from 2025 amid the clampdown on in-season testing.
Ferrari is also poised to conduct testing later this week at the Italian marque’s Fiorano test track as Lewis Hamilton makes his much-anticipated maiden outing in red.
