Verstappen had a fire in his belly in Qatar after his spat with Mercedes’ George Russell over a one-place grid penalty and there was much more to discuss from the GP weekend.

A loose wing mirror caused chaos and penalties galore, but more than that, it paved the way for Sauber to score its first points of 2024 with Zhou Guanyu.

It was a dismal weekend for Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and an intriguing one regarding the Constructors’ Championship.

Ferrari has closed the gap to McLaren at the top of the standings to 21 points while Alpine moved into sixth at the expense of Haas and RB.

Talking of Alpine, Esteban Ocon has been dropped ahead of the season-ending Abu Dhabi GP in favour of 2025 recruit Jack Doohan.

Moreover, Audi has sold a minority stake in its fledgling F1 project to the Qatar Investment Authority and FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem had some words for the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association.

But it wasn’t just Formula 1 that Dan and Jack spoke about, with Season 11 of the FIA Formula E World Championship set to get underway in Sao Paulo.

Jack tells Dan what to expect from the dawn of GEN3 Evo in Formula E, which will be free-to-air in the UK thanks to a new deal with ITV.
