FP1 offered the only hour of F1 practice for the Sao Paulo GP

McLaren’s Lando Norris set the fastest time in the first and only Formula 1 practice session for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix at the Interlagos circuit.

A final soft tyre run elevated him to the top of the order courtesy of a 1:10.610s lap time, over a tenth quicker than Mercedes’ George Russell in second.

Haas’ Oliver Bearman, standing in for an unwell Kevin Magnussen impressed by finishing third, just under two-tenths away from Norris’ best effort.

Norris’ McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri was fourth with Williams’ Alex Albon rounding out the top five.

Next up was the two Ferraris with Charles Leclerc getting the better of Carlos Sainz – Haas’ Nico Hulkenberg was eighth.

Rounding out the top-10 were Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso and Alpine’s Pierre Gasly.
