Francesco Bagnaia dominated the final practice ahead of qualifying for this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix, finishing 0.339s clear of anyone else.
The double reigning champion pulled off a quick lap time of 1.45.608s, with Gresini’s Marc Marquez accompanying him as the sole two riders to post a time in the 1.45s.
Franco Morbidelli continued his impressive form this weekend to finish in third, with factory Ducati rider Enea Bastianini making up for a difficult outing yesterday to finish fourth.
Pedro Acosta finished as lead KTM rider once more, with Maverick Vinales placing his Aprilia bike 0.001s behind the rookie.
Fabio Quartararo and Yamaha continued their development to finish this session in seventh, with the outfit appearing to able to fight with the lead bikes.
Brad Binder slotted his factory KTM bike in eighth place after being able to craft his best lap in the last parts of the session.
Gresini Ducati rider Alex Marquez was able to slot his bike in eighth, edging out both VR46 Ducati duo Marco Bezzecchi and Fabio Di Giannantonio.
Aleix Espargaro struggled to find the pace to finish an underwhelming 12th, ahead of Trackhouse rider Raul Fernandez.
With KTM full-time rider Jack Miller finishing 14th and test rider Pol Espargaro finishing 16th, the team sandwiched a surprise result for the incumbent championship leader Jorge Martin, with the latter finishing in 15th.
Alex Rins and Miguel Oliveria were able to book their Q2 places yesterday but struggled to form a consistent race pace setting this morning, occupying 17th and 18th.
Augusto Fernandez finished in 19th before Takaaki Nakagami finished the session as lead Honda rider once more.
Johann Zarco finished in 21st ahead of 2020 champion Joan Mir, ahead of Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori and Luca Marini to continue Honda’s woes.
