Carlos Sainz ensured Ferrari converted practice pace into qualifying pace by taking pole position for the Singapore Grand Prix.
The Spaniard posted a 1:30.984s lap time to beat Mercedes’ George Russell to pole by 0.072s.
Leclerc took third in the second Ferrari, with Lando Norris an impressive fourth for McLaren.
Lewis Hamilton maintained his record of qualifying in the top five every year in Singapore in the second Mercedes, with Kevin Magnussen placing a well-earned sixth for Haas.
Fernando Alonso, Esteban Ocon, Nico Hulkenberg and Liam Lawson rounded out the top 10.
Both Red Bull’s missed Q3 with Max Verstappen 11th and Sergio Perez 13th.
Q1 ended dramatically with a heavy crash for Lance Stroll at the final corner.
