Max Verstappen has taken pole position for the Spanish Grand Prix as he was left unchallenged in Q3.
A number of the Dutchman’s rivals faltered before the final session, with Charles Leclerc being a shock exit in Q1.

Verstappen’s Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez failed to make it into the top 10, and nor did George Russell who also had contact with Mercedes partner Lewis Hamilton in Q2.
Hamilton ended the session in fifth place, behind Lando Norris and Pierre Gasly on the second row.
