Max Verstappen seized top spot in the final practice session for the Monaco Grand Prix ahead of the all-important qualifying hour later today.

The reigning World Champion clocked a 1:12.776s to be fastest for the second time in the weekend, edging out Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez by just 0.073s.

F1 2023 Monaco GP – FP3 Report

Lance Stroll wound up third overall for Aston Martin, but Fernando Alonso’s attempts to improve in the sister AMR23 were consistently halted by various interruptions.

Carlos Sainz had the measure of Charles Leclerc as the Ferrari pair ended up fourth and seventh, with Lando Norris impressing enough to land a top-five berth for McLaren.

Alpine also enjoyed a positive session to get both cars inside the top 10, despite Esteban Ocon briefly stopping in the tunnel at the start of the session, having reported a loss of power.

Despite being classified as the lead Mercedes in eighth place, Lewis Hamilton ended FP3 with his upgraded W14 car rooted in the barrier down at Mirabeau.
