While still locked in a battle with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc for second place in the 2022 Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship, Sergio Perez has already set his sights on the 2023 crown.

Perez has enjoyed two seasons of being a Red Bull Racing driver in a spell which has seen them rise to the top of the standings again.

A Drivers’ Championship in 2021 with Max Verstappen, followed by a double Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championship in the first year of the new regulations bodes well for the team that Perez is signed up with until the end of 2024.

When asked about his feelings in regard to his second season at Red Bull, Perez told the media of his ambitions in 2023: “Certainly, it started really well. Some reliability issues in the beginning, but things were looking on track.

“We were in the mix for the championship early on. I had a couple of bad races that really put me off contention for the championship.

“So, there is some work to do in that regard together with the team to make sure that we can keep that consistency throughout and that we can come back next year and fight for the title if we were to have a similar level of car for next year.

“It’s important that we finish our season on a high so that we can come back next year and start strong throughout the season.”

The Mexican driver also went on to talk about how he feels that he is in the prime of his career.

“I think it really depends on how comfortable I am at the start of the season with the car, as I was in the beginning of the season, then it slipped away,” he continued.

So I think as Formula 1 drivers, we are constantly working for new challenges, you know, all the time. But I do feel, at this time, I’m pretty much at my best.”

Now that Max has demonstrated his eagerness to stitch up his team out of pure spite, you can bet your life there will be no more co-operation from Checo. I’m looking forward to some payback next year.

If Perez really crashed in the Monaco GP on purpose (telemetry data looks bad for Perez), it does not bode well well for Perez. Last year he had helped Max so that he can retain his seat for 2022. What Max did was bad but he might have his reasons. With the same car, Perez is nowhere near the Max in lap timings. There is obviously a huge difference between them. If Ferrari can get their act together, they might have a title contender along with Merc.

Unfortunately for Checo he is driving for a team of Nazze. Their arrogant POS number 1 driver with the orange smoke fools that support him will always get the best strategy, best car with the over budget parts. Karen Horner and Demented Marko are pathological liars. Checo the best thing you can do is to drive like Bottas 😂 and get your money 💰
