Qualifying for Formula 1’s Sao Paulo Grand Prix delivered a shock as Haas’ Kevin Magnussen grabbed his and the team’s first pole position during a rain-affected session at Interlagos.
Magnussen utilised his optimum track position to set the fastest time during Q3 before worsening weather conditions denied the field the chance to improve.

World Champion Max Verstappen was second while George Russell took third despite sliding wide at Descida do Lago.
Magnussen will consequently line up from top spot for Saturday’s Sprint Race.
