Verstappen boycotts Sky Sports following comments over 2021 F1 title
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Max Verstappen is refusing to speak to Sky Sports after comments were made at last weekend’s US Grand Prix regarding his 2021 title win.

Last year, Verstappen was involved in a close title fight with Lewis Hamilton, with the battle coming to a head at the season finale in Abu Dhabi.

Verstappen won under controversial circumstances after Race Control allowed the lapped cars in between Hamilton and Verstappen to unlap themselves amid a Safety Car restart.

The procedure prompted an inquest from the FIA, who concluded that human error from ex-Race Director Michael Masi resulted in the situation, which went against the FIA’s own rulebook.

Max Verstappen: Red Bull F1 pitstop mistakes can’t be blamed on team reshuffle

In a recent Sky Sports broadcast, reporter Ted Kravitz stated that Hamilton was “robbed” of last year’s championship.

Verstappen didn’t speak to the British broadcaster after qualifying in Mexico, and according to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Verstappen also plans to black out Sky Sports Italia and Sky Sports Germany.

What did Ted Kravitz say about Verstappen’s title?

The comment was made in ‘Ted’s Notebook’, a popular segment hosted by Kravitz following each qualifying and race session.

Kravitz was referring to movie star Brad Pitt being at the Circuit of the Americas last weekend, and that it would’ve been a strong Hollywood script for Hamilton to beat Verstappen in the US last time out to take his first win of the 2022 campaign.

“[Hamilton] doesn’t win a race all year, and then finally comes back at a track where he could win the first race all year, battling the same guy who won the race he was robbed in the previous year, and manages to finish ahead of him,” he said.

“What a script and a story that would have been. But that’s not the way the script turned out today, was it?

“Because the guy that beat him after being robbed actually overtook him, because he’s got a quicker car, because of engineering and Formula 1 and design, and pretty much because of [Adrian Newey, Red Bull’s chief technical officer] over there.”

Sky Sports F1 commentators are pathetic gushing blinkered immature Hamilton fanboys. I’m a Brit and find this Hamilton fixation embarrassing and think it hilarious when they talk Hamilton up and then he doesn’t deliver. Anyone to win than Hamilton please!

I’m to the point where I watch most of the races on mute. The commentators are in complete la-la land and call only what they wish they were seeing. Like, wait, why are you talking about this guy as if he is racing the ghosts of Senna and Ascari for his 900th win, when he is just following other cars around below podium position and moaning to his team on the radio, trying to claim others are cutting corners to try and get them penalized (because that’s the only way he can gain positions these days it seems)? It’s just so absurd.

Truth hurts, Max may not like it but he was gifted the championship with the last lap call. He should get use to this fact as he has a long life ahead and will continually hear that his first championship was gifted by Masi, full stop. Truth isn’t confident but it is the truth.

You mean like when the FIA gifted Mercedes seven years worth of driver championships for winning the regulation lottery of 2014, crippling the other teams with a token system that prevented them from catching up? Bro, Hamilton would still be a one time world champion with less than 25 wins and long retired had that not happened.

A true sportman on recognising what was happening would not have wanted to win in such a underhanded manner. Sadly the “win at any cost” mentally has now left you with a millstone around your neck, which you will carry for the rest of your life and long after. You can distance yourself from every media outlet, won’t change what happened.

This is true, and Hamilton should have either left F1 or went to another team after 2014 or 2015 so he could have actually earned his championships rather than having them gifted to him by the FIA.

Ted Kravitz is a mega-ADHD moron who these days can barely form a sentence, and should have been dumped by Sky Sports at least a decade ago when his brain went to mush (listen to him during races in the 2000s and then now, yes believe it or not that is actually the same Ted Kravtiz). Crofty and Brundell are hardly any different either. Every race weekend they slurp Hamilton’s donger as he moans over the radio while racing behind Russell, the Ferraris, Red Bulls, and usually Alonso in a turtle of a car; as if Hamilton is racing for the win. It’s non-stop Lewis this, Lewis that — LLLLLLLEWIS HAMILTON TAKES 5TH POSITION!!!!! — nothing is ever his fault and he can do no wrong even though he is paddock cancer. And no, I am not much of a Verstappen fan, so all of you Hamiltards — don’t even try pulling that card on me.

Unfortunately a free press means there is also room for commercial press agents like sky news. Mostly politically coloured, biased and nationalistic to serve the average “underbelly intellect” of their readers/viewers.

We all know that the F1 title was given to the ‘just another great white hope’ but sadly the world is flat and white people don’t and refuse to see racism when it stares them in the face. The whole ‘We Race as One’ is just BS and whether you like it or not Lewis Hamilton was cheated out of a title in 2021 end of story full stop. Point is Verstappen with all his family money is just another carpet bagging pay your way to fame milquetoast silver-spoon- in-mouth wanna be. He knows nothing about struggle and overcoming and character.

Hamilton’s mother is white, you fucking mong, he just doesn’t want people to know it, because he likes to play the race card and make himself out a victim. But when did he ever wear a David Dorn t-shirt? A true hero, murdered by BLM. The same BLM that Hamilton has backed and praised so often. Black people don’t see their own gullibility when it stares them in the face.

Like that ,if people can’t come up with something sensible they pull the “race”card
Maybe Max is born with a silver or even a golden spoon but if you don’t have the talent and the right attitude you will never succeed in any sport or for that matter any job
Lewis and his fans were disappointed last year because he missed out on being the GOAT of F1,that’s all it was.
Now it’s getting harder to accomplish that
He still can get his 8th title and that will finally be the end of the 2021 discussion, only for somebody like Kravitz to say that Max actually wasn’t the 2022 champion yet after the Japan GP,well Max won 14 races
so far, that must hurt for a Lewis fan.
As for next year ,pull all this years drivers out put rookies in their place and let Hamilton get his 8th
