Nico Hulkenberg will be back behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car this week in Budapest, as he tests with Aston Martin as part of Pirelli’s 2023 tyre development programme.
Full-time Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll will also be in attendance, driving the Aston Martin car on Tuesday, before Hulkenberg takes over on Wednesday.
Aston Martin came away from Sunday’s race in Hungary with one point, as Sebastian Vettel crossed the line in 10th place.
Hulkenberg is acting as Aston Martin’s test and reserve driver for the 2022 campaign, having last raced full-time in 2019 with Renault.
The German driver took part in two grands prix at the start of the year, substituting for Vettel when the four-time World Champion tested positive for Covid-19.
Mercedes is also believed to be staying behind in Budapest to take part in the test, however its driver line-up has not yet been confirmed.
