Kubica gets FP1 outing with Alfa Romeo at Paul Ricard
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Robert Kubica will be back behind the wheel of the Alfa Romeo C42 car this weekend for the opening practice session in France.

Kubica has been part of the Alfa Romeo team since 2020, working as a test and reserve driver.

The Polish driver has had a number of FP1 outings for the outfit, and took part in two grands prix with it last year when Kimi Raikkonen tested positive for Covid-19.

Kubica got behind the wheel of the car earlier this year at the Spanish Grand Prix during FP1, replacing rookie Zhou Guanyu.

On this occasion, former Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas will take to the sidelines for the opening session of the weekend to give Kubica more track time.

Kubica won’t be the only non-full-time driver present during the FP1 outing, as Nyck de Vries will drive Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes car for the 60-minute event.

The French Grand Prix hosts the 12th round of the 2022 campaign, with FP1 getting underway at 14:00 local time on Friday.

Why??? This man should move on, the crash he had in the Rally car killed what F1 career he had at the time, his comeback achieved nothing apart from showing he could still drive an F1 car, though not competitively. Should move on really.

Agreed ! Kubica is hanging on to a career lost to the rally accident. Definitely his racing career over. His financial backers must have money to fritter away.
On another note Mr.Grant Schapps MP 🤣 , surely you should be dealing with the strike action by the Unions. The measly 5% salary rise is a measly offer ,when the cost of living is at a higher rate. Summer of Discontent will be your downfall and whoever wins the Conservative leadership the Cabinet reshuffle may lead to the back benches.
I really do hope you are “Grant Schapps MP” & not a doppelganger. Totally agree with you regarding Kubica.

Are you the real Biff then, from Back to the Future?

Surely an MP would be able to spell his own name correctly.

@Stradale… No, I am not related to the MP being mentioned, however with the current crop of MP’s in all parties, I doubt if many could spell their names correctly if they tried?
