Envision Racing launches new-look livery at COP26

Envision Racing launched an all-new look for Formula E’s season eight, which will see the outfit racing in a blue and green livery.

With Envision – a Chinese green energy company – taking full ownership of the team, Virgin’s branding is no longer visible and nor is the popular red and purple colour scheme.

The new-look was launched during COP26, the United Nations Climate Change Conference which is being hosted in Glasgow, UK, where world leaders are meeting to discuss ways to tackle the climate crisis.

Envision says the new colour scheme “evokes the colours of the globe” and reinforces its ‘Race Against Climate Change’ message.

Managing Director, Sylvain Filippi, said of the design: “Since becoming a founding member of Formula E, we have been on an exciting journey that celebrates sport, and its potential to influence sustainability. The team exists to accelerate the global transition to electric vehicles and renewable energy – a purpose shared by Envision Group and one that’s inspired the new design of our race car.

“The new design of our Formula E car celebrates Envision Group’s ownership and recognises their unrelenting ambition to accelerate the global transition to net zero. We are proud to be owned by one of the world’s leading, most sustainably innovative companies and this will inspire the continued success of Envision Racing and energise our Race Against Climate Change.”

The car will be driven by Robin Frijns and Nick Cassidy and will make its on-track debut at the Diriyah EPrix on January 28-29.
