‘Exhausted’ Hamilton suggests Covid-19 effects lingering

Lewis Hamilton (GBR) Mercedes AMG F1 celebrates his third position on the podium. Hungarian Grand Prix, Sunday 1st August 2021. Budapest, Hungary.

The current Formula 1 season has been another classic and shows no signs of letting up as it heads towards its climax in Abu Dhabi in December. With the Mexican Grand Prix up next, all F1 fans will be eagerly awaiting more high-octane excitement to enjoy. The thrills, spills and racing are not the only things that people love about F1, though.

Many fans also like to bet on the sport to get even more enjoyment from it. Formula 1 is actually one of the best sports to bet on because of the variety of interesting wagers you can make. As well as betting on race results, for example, you can make prop bets at top prop betting sites. This type of bet sees you backing certain events to happen in a race – such as who will be leading after a certain number of laps.

Another aspect that makes Formula 1 so appealing to follow is iconic drivers. Over the years, there have been some true legends to reflect on. But who are the 10 best Formula 1 drivers ever?

10. Sir Stirling Moss

Although he never won the Formula 1 title, Sir Stirling Moss merits a mention. Able to drive anything with wheels, his love for racing, speed and danger was infectious. Winning almost half of the races he competed in, his status as a F1 icon remains untouched.

9. Jim Clark

Not such an extrovert as other Formula 1 stars, Clark was a gifted racer who set the 1960s ablaze. This saw him bag two World Championships in 1963 and 1965 for Lotus. Silky smooth behind the wheel, he won 25 out of the 72 races he started.

8. Sir Jackie Stewart

A three-time World Championship winner, this Scottish driver was a real force in Formula 1 from the mid-1960s to the mid-1970s. It was not all about his sublime driving skills for teams like Tyrell, though. Stewart was also a pioneer for Formula 1 safety and helped make the sport better for all.

7. Ayrton Senna

A truly shocking Formula 1 incident marked the death of Ayrton Senna at the San Marino GP in 1994. He was a man who drove like few others could and it is true to say the sport lost a huge talent that day. Full of passion, flair and charisma, Senna won three championships, in 1988, 1990 and 1991, before his demise.

6. Nikki Lauda

Formula 1 has seen some formidable drivers over the years but few quite as tough as Lauda. He was also a great driver, with cunning and a fierce will to win. This took him to three titles overall in his career – two for Ferrari and one for McLaren.

5. Fernando Alonso

When looking at current Formula 1 aces, Alonso makes the cut for his two World Championship victories and 32 GP wins to date. Brilliant for Renault in the early 2000’s, many think he should have gone on to win more titles by now.

4. Alain Prost

While Senna was a flamboyant, hot-blooded Formula 1 ace, his major rival Prost was the thinking person’s racer. Prost was more like a university professor in style and won four world titles with this approach. He was also a genius at managing his car through a race to finish strongly.

3. Juan Manuel Fangio

Fangio is still revered in Formula One circles for his exploits in the 1950s. This saw him win an impressive five World Championships for four different teams – Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and Maserati. In addition to this, he clocked up two second-place championship finishes and drove some of the most legendary Formula 1 cars in history.

2. Michael Schumacher

Until recent years, nobody who followed Formula 1 thought this German icon’s exploits could be matched. An all-time great, Schumacher won seven World Championships and 91 races in his career. Combining high-level reflexes with mental toughness and the ability to drive on the limit, his record for Benetton and Ferrari speaks for itself.

1. Lewis Hamilton

Few people now can argue that British driver Hamilton is the GOAT as far as Formula 1 goes. Still driving, he has won seven championships and leads the current F1 standings in 2021. Also holding the record for wins (100 so far) and most poles (101 to date), he is already a true legend.

Formula 1 is full of iconic figures When you take a look back at the amount of top talent the sport has seen over time, it is clear how blessed fans have been. The beauty of Formula 1 is that this is not a mere exercise in history – as people such as Alonso and Hamilton show, modern F1 is still throwing up its share of racing heroes.

Seriously, who put this shit together!!!
I love Alonso, but he’s not better than Ayrton Senna and with all due respect, in what universe is Lauda better than Senna and Prost is also debatable.

Imagine putting Lewis on #1. He should be in the top 10 but absolutely not even above Stewart. Please look at driver skills and not just at meaningless statistics because Hamilton only won this much because of Mercedes and a total lack of competition, which cannot be said about any of the other drivers on this list. I suppose it’s very telling that the only motivation for Lewis on #1 seems to be the numbers.

Frank Stilton you prat! Men lie women lie numbers don’t. Everything is debatable except the numbers so why would you not base the formula (no pun intended) for calculating the greatest driver, on foundation that is not subjective. Everybody and their grandmother has an opinion about what era was most competitive and the reasons why. But a win will always be a win and championship will always be a championship and Hamilton my friend has the most of both😜

?! Lewis Hamilton won 103 Formula 1 races. Schumacher is in 2nd place with 91 Formula 1 race wins. Sir Lewis has also won more poles than Schumacher. Lewis Hamilton (Sir Lewis) won 103 poles. Schumacher only 67.

Schumacher destroyed every team mate he was ever paired with, also won title in cars that lost constructors, so he did not the best car on the grid. Hamilton lost to plenty of teammates and was also extremely lucky to go from dominant McLaren to dominant Merc. Both great drivers, but in the same team Schumacher would be the no 1.

?! Brilliant, highly skilled, clearly # 1 Best Formula 1 Driver in History, Sir Lewis (Hamilton) has won the title in a car that lost the constructors, too. And as for Schumacher “destroying his teammates,” that strongly suggests that Schumacher did not have the competition that Sir Lewis and other drivers may have had. Brilliant, best overall driver, Lewis Hamilton is/was so highly skilled, he came in 2nd – close to winning the championship in just his rookie year! Only losing by 1 point!

Did lesser driver Schumacher come that close his rookie year? Ah, no. And obviously McLaren was not really all that “dominant” since Ferrari won the constructors that year (2007) Not McLaren! Kimi was the winner of the championship (drivers) in Ferrari. Lewis Hamilton was driving McLaren in 2007. So I’ve got to ask you “Redlead:” To whom do you think you’re posting? You can’t get away with obfuscation here.

Again, brilliant, magnificently highly skilled Sir Lewis (Hamilton) is clearly the # 1 Best Formula 1 Driver in History. Amazing Lewis Hamilton won 103 Formula 1 races – more than any other Formula1 driver in History. 2nd place Schumacher won 91. Spectacular Lewis Hamilton won 103 Poles – more than any other driver by Far. 2nd place Schumacher only won 67 Poles. Lewis Hamilton is tied with Schumacher for the most championships, but everyone on the planet knows that is a function of Masi cheating last year for vile Verstappen and of Verstappen dangerously bulldozing his way to “victory” in general.

Exactly! Sir Lewis (Hamilton) is clearly better than Schumacher. Lewis Hamilton is objectively the # 1 Best Driver in the History of Formula 1. Period.

?!? Come on, now. We don’t have to “imagine” Sir Lewis (Hamilton) as the # 1 Best driver in Formula 1 history because clearly, Lewis Hamilton is the Proven # 1 Best driver in Formula 1 history. And Lewis Hamilton winning 103 Formula 1 races, more than Any other driver in the history of the sport is obviously Not a “meaningless” statistic! It is a glaringly obvious meaningFul one! So is the Fact that Sir Lewis (Hamilton) won 103 Poles! Schumacher, who is a distant 2nd, only won 67 poles. So you know full well that Lewis Hamilton is the greatest driver in Formula 1 history. And Sir Lewis had competition, as all champions have. He even raced against some of those drivers you’re strangely allegedly pretending are “better” than he. They’re not. Clearly Lewis Hamilton, a brilliantly highly skilled driver, is the best driver in Formula 1 History. The ridiculously wrong, predictable nonsense about alleged “lack” of competition has not worked for bigots Trying to use it (and for the same “reason”) against magnificent Serena Williams and amazing Tiger Woods, either. Sir Lewis is the winningest and he is the best. Again, those are the Facts. Sir Lewis (Hamilton) is the # 1 Best driver in Formula 1 history. Get used to seeing that fact, friend.

Jim Clark. When he was killed, Clark had won more F1 races than anyone. In 1963, Clark and Colin Chapman’s Lotus won seven of the ten races, while finishing second at the Indianapolis 500 in an underpowered Lotus-Ford. In 1965, Clark won the 500, won going away, as they would say about a horse race. He won six F1 races, and did not compete at Monaco because he was preparing for Indy.

Juan Fangio said that Clark was the all-time best, so that’s enough for me.

As an old french man that has been following F1 since 1981, my favorite driver was Alain Prost, and I used to hate Senna when I was young, but as a mature man, I must admit that I couldn’t see any driver even close to Senna’s skills. His ability to feel the changes on the track, his focus. His ability to overcome adversity, Oh my lord, he is untouchable until today IMHO.

Everyone has something to say… but hear this… we shall all dream about the top drivers… how about having 3 races at 3 different tracks . All racers get same car same set up…. The winner has to take all 3 wins

I understand your heart is in the right place in trying to “even the playing field” for a trial. But with the brazen cheating by Masi for vile Verstappen, the bulldozer, last year, I wouldn’t trust there to not be shenanigans even in that. It was like the satanic cheating by the “umpire” against brilliant Serena Williams vs Capriati in 1994 at the U.S. Open. There is always a reckoning for demonic bigotry. There is a GOD. “Certain” people should be trembling.

Thank you, MotorSports for telling the God’s honest truth about Sir Lewis’ (Hamilton’s) clear status as the # 1 Best driver in Formula 1 history. Democracy itself has been endangered by Orwellian lying. Sports may be the last bastion of hope for bringing society back to healthily facing incontrovertible Facts.
