Harry Tincknell took pole position with a 1:10:027 for Mazda Motorsports for the Acura Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio, driving the #55 Mazda RT24-P DPi.

It is the British driver’s first pole position in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.

In a close fought session Filipe Albuquerque, driving the #10 Konica Minolta Acura ARX-05 for Wayne Taylor Racing, setting a time just under a tenth slower than Tincknell’s, on a 1:10:122. The two traded fastest laps and provisional pole position, but ultimately the Portuguese racer couldn’t quite beat the Mazda driver.

In third was the other Acura ARX-05, the #60 Meyer Shank Racing car, with Dane Cameron setting a 1:10:355, and will accordingly start the race from the second row of the grid.
