DAMS has completed its driver line-up for the 2021 Formula 2 season, adding Williams development driver Roy Nissany to the team.
Nissany will partner Ferrari junior driver Marcus Armstrong during his third campaign in F2, having raced for Campos and Trident in 2018 and 2020 respectively.
Nissany’s best result in the series came last year in the form of an eighth-place finish at the Feature Race at Spa-Francorchamps, earning him reverse grid pole for the Sprint Race.
After ending the year 19th in the Drivers’ Championship, the Israeli driver received his first taste with DAMS at the post-season F2 test in Bahrain.
“I’m thrilled to be part of such a highly respected team as DAMS,” Nissany said.
“They have an amazing history at this level and a strong reputation in Formula 2, so I’m excited to be joining.
“We have already put some strong work in during last year’s post-season test and I’m looking forward to getting the season underway in March.
“Hopefully we’ll be fighting at the front of the field. I believe we have a very exciting journey ahead so I’m keen to start.”
DAMS ended the 2020 F2 season eighth in the Teams’ Championship, picking up one race win during the year with Dan Ticktum.
Nissany’s F2 duties will run alongside his role with Williams this year, which will see him take part in pre-season testing with the team, as well as three FP1 sessions during the season.
