IMSA debutant Kevin Magnussen has set the fastest time in night practice at the Roar Before the 24.

The former Formula One racer posted the quickest time in his #01 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac DPi-VR as his best effort of 01:35.412 knocked Whelen Engineering’s Mike Conway off the top spot.

Conway ended the session 0.040s slower down in second place in the #31 Cadillac DPi-VR, while Toyota WEC team-mate Kamui Kobayashi sweeped the top three in the #48 Ally Cadillac Racing Cadillac.

This also means that Cadillac runners have led the way in each of the Roar practice session, with the sole exception of Saturday’s qualifying session. In that session, Mazda was promoted to pole after Whelen Engineering failed post-qualifying scrutineering.

Antonio Garcia was third in the #3 Corvette, ahead of Philipp Eng’s #24 BMW and Gianmaria Bruni in the #79 WeatherTech Racing Porsche 911 RSR-19.
