Vettel: I’ll keep pushing out of respect for Ferrari
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Sebastian Vettel says it is only right to show respect to Ferrari during his final races with the team, despite the on-track struggles he is going through in 2020.

Ferrari has slipped down the pecking order this year, with Vettel currently sitting 11th in the drivers’ standings after the opening six races of the season.

Vettel will depart Ferrari at the end of the year and as of yet, has no contract in place for 2021.

Despite the difficulties that the four-time world champion is enduring, Vettel affirms he will maintain respect for the team and its staff who he has worked alongside since 2015.

“I trust the people that I have around me, the guys in the garage,” Vettel said.

“There’s a lot of people, I’ve said this before, who have given me so much over the years so it’s only a sign of respect to give everything that I have back as well, independent from the amount of races that I have left for the team.”

Vettel adds that he is not counting down the remaining races with Ferrari, and is searching for the positives amid the challenging situation the team finds itself in.

“I don’t look at the negatives or the bad things,” Vettel commented. “I think, first of all, I’m not counting the races.

“I’m going race by race and I’m trying to do my job the best I can. I’m always optimistic and rather see the opportunities rather than the struggles.

“That’s also the right thing to do, retrospective of what we have achieved together in the last years.

“For sure there were some moments that were not good and not great and the moments that we did not enjoy.

“But equally there were a lot of great moments, wins etc. A lot of positives as well. But everything I guess comes to an end at some point so it is what it is.

“Independent of what happens next year and the years after that, I’m trying to enjoy the time I have left with the guys that I’ve spent so much time with over the last years.”

$V’s been pushing out $h1t all season in the bloody lav – showing DISDAIN for Ferrari sacking him. $V’s team mate is P4 WDC at 45 points with 1 PU DNF, where he was in front of Mr Lavatory. Mr Lavatory is pushing out a pathetic P11 WDC on only 16 points w/ 1 DNF (Charles pulled a $eb & own-goaled them both). 45-16 is a joke

Ferrari is protesting Tracing Point because $V is so far behind that Ferrari is P5 WCC!

Pushing to the max is something real champions do because it is who they are, not to impress someone that finally sacked their sorry arse for terrible performances since ’13.
