Mercedes Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton ranked tenth amongst the highest-paid athletes of the decade, according to a report by Forbes.
The Briton, who this year was crowned a six-time F1 World Champion, ranking him as the second most successful driver behind only Michael Schumacher, with seven titles.
Hamilton is the highest paid driver, raking in around £40 million annually thanks to a lucrative Mercedes deal, and earns additional income via personal sponsorships and investments.
Forbes ranks Hamilton’s earnings over the decade (2010-2019) at $400 million, placing him tenth on the list.
He comes in just $25m short of NBA player Kevin Durant, with boxing star Manny Pacquiao a further $10m ahead in eighth.
Topping the list is Floyd Mayweather, thanks to a blockbuster decade in which the American boxer earned a record $915m, to easily beat Christiano Ronaldo to the top spot by more than $100m.
Also featuring on the list are Tiger Woods, Roger Federer, LeBron James and Lionel Messi.
