Mitch Evans set the pace in FP1 ahead of this weekend's Berlin E-Prix, heading Venturi's Edoardo Mortara in the 45-minute session.
The Jaguar Racing driver set a fastest time of a 1m 08.162s, 0.066s faster than Mortara who emerged as the Kiwi's nearest challenger in second.
HWA Racelab's Stoffel Vandoorne followed Mortara in third, using the same Venturi powertrain as the Swiss-Italian, 0.049s adrift.

Robin Frijns emerged as the fastest Envision Virgin Racing driver, 0.317s off the pace while team-mate Sam Bird was only 18th, the Briton heading to Berlin on the back of a non-scoring run of four races.
2018 Berlin E-Prix race winner Daniel Abt was ninth for Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler while Alexander Sims completed the top 10 in the second BMW, briefly touching the wall on the exit of Turn 6.
NIO's Tom Dillmann fronted the second half of the field in 11th, 0.522s slower than Evans while Jose Maria Lopez, Lucas di Grassi, Oliver Turvey and Oliver Rowland completed the top 15.
Wehrlein was 16th while Andre Lotterer emerged as the lead DS Techeetah driver in what was a low-key practice session for the Franco-Chinese squad, with reigning champion Jean-Eric Vergne ending the session in 20th, the pair separated by Bird and Maximilian Gunther.
