Formula 1 is ready to emerge from its winter hibernation as today (Monday) marks the start of pre-season testing for the 2019 championship.
Testing will take place from today through Thursday, and then from next Tuesday (26 February) through Friday (1 March) as teams fettle their machines in anticipation of the Australian season-opener.
Nine teams are set to be in action and are permitted one to field one car for the eight days of running.
Williams confirmed on Sunday that its FW42 would not be ready in time for today's running.
Running is to take place each day from 09:00 until 18:00, with a one-hour break for lunch at 13:00.
After last year’s opening test was beset by wintry weather, this year’s forecast is much clearer, with warm and sunny conditions expected throughout the four days of running, leading to temperatures of around 16°c.
