Formula 1 officials confirmed on Wednesday that a Vietnam Grand Prix will be held from April 2020, with a 5.5km semi-permanent circuit set to be constructed in the vicinity of the My Dinh National Stadium in the western side of Hanoi.
The track incorporates long straights, flowing sections and slow-speed turns, and has taken inspiration from other circuits previously used in Formula 1, most prominently Suzuka, Monaco, Sepang and the Nurburgring.
Here's a quick rundown of some of the key elements of Formula 1's newest venue.
The anti-clockwise circuit features a 1.5km straight and a pit lane that cuts the last and first corners
The final 10 turns come in quick succession, taking inspiration from Monaco, Suzuka and Sepang
The first couple of corners take inspiration from the Nurburgring, last used by Formula 1 in 2013
Formula 1 cars will weave through the barriers between Turns 12 and 15, replicating Monaco's first corners
Formula 1 has again worked in collaboration with circuit design company Tilke
The final few corners take inspiration from Sepang, which dropped off the calendar in 2017
A permanent pits and paddock complex will be constructed across the next 16 months
