Formula E has released a teaser image of its upcoming second generation car which will be used from Season Five onwards, replacing the Spark-Renault SRT 01E, which has been in action since the inaugural season in 2014.
The second generation car, which is set to have a more striking look, will no longer require mid-race swaps as the battery is designed to last an entire race distance.
Formula E released the first teaser image of the car on Saturday, and although very little was given away, the image shows the Halo head protection device, which will debut in Formula 1 and Formula 2 this year, in full view.
It appears to include some form of LED light bar running across the top which could potentially show information such as remaining battery life, when a driver is using Fanboost or has set the fastest lap during qualifying or the race.
The car is set to make its public debut on March 6 at the Geneva motor show.
The Halo will be introduced on all new-generation formula cars, meaning it will feature in the newly-formed F3 International Championship in 2019, the category which is set to replace both European F3 and GP3.
