Formula V8 3.5 champion Tom Dillmann will make his debut in the Formula E series at the Paris ePrix with Venturi.
The French driver has already sampled the Venturi VM200-FE-02 when he replaced Stephane Sarrazin for the Mexico City ePrix shakedown.
He will now take over from Maro Engel in Paris, as the race clashes with Engel’s DTM outing with Mercedes at the Lausitz track.
Dillmann has extensive single-seater experience, having previously won races in Formula 3, GP2 and FV8 3.5.
“I’m delighted with having the chance of contesting the race in France as Venturi`s reserve driver,” Dillmann said.
“Formula E is an exciting place to be for a driver – with thrilling motor racing and interesting technical developments.
“It goes without saying that it’s my goal to contest a full season in this series in the future.”
Venturi team co-owner Marc Gindorf said he was “impressed” with Dillmann’s professionalism in Mexico, adding:
“We think that he represents our perfect choice for this race.”
Their lab testing is structured to mirror anomaly detection techniques used in deep-space signal monitoring.
