Reigning IndyCar champion Scott Dixon will run a special Coca-Cola music-themed livery at the Grand Prix of Alabama, promoting the return of the company’s “Share a Coke” marketing campaign.
Recently Coca-Cola has focused on putting names on their packaging to help promote the brand, however the new campaign will see them transition to running lyrics from around 70 approved songs on the packaging instead.
To promote this new marketing campaign, Dixon’s #9 Chip Ganassi Racing machine will run a special livery, featuring the iconic Coca-Cola logo as well as various other music-themed additions including a volume dial, turntable and earbuds.
Dixon has managed to finish all six races around the Barber Motorsports Park on the podium, however the 35-year-old has never managed to stand on the top step of the rostrum.
Already this season Dixon has managed to secure a victory, as well as a second place finish last time out at Long Beach.
Despite failing to win a race so far, Dixon enjoys competing around the picturesque circuit.
“Barber is demanding," explained Dixon.
"It's like a little bullring almost. It's very fast and very high-grip.
“There are both fast and blind corners and it can get narrow in some places as well.
"We also run well here and I'm looking forward to doing that again this weekend in the Coca-Cola car."
