Red Bull’s Helmut Marko is under no illusions with regards the challenge that lays ahead for the Milton Keynes based team and admits they face some “complex difficulties”.
Speaking to the Salzburger Nachrichten newspaper, Marko insists the problems can be solved, but only if Red Bull and Renault can work together.
“We are facing some complex difficulties,” he said. “We can only solve them in conjunction with Renault.
“Unfortunately, we are going from problem to problem and are clearly behind schedule.”
The team has another four days of pre-season testing before the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.
When asked if everything could be resolved by then and whether they can complete some race simulations, he replied: “That is open and cannot be predicted.”
“We will have developments in Bahrain for the third test but, as I said, everything is very complex.
“We cannot hang our heads. We need to look and think ahead.”
