Pirelli has revealed its latest compounds for the final three races of the 2011 season; India, Abu Dhabi and Brazil.
The inaugural Indian GP will see the yellow soft tyre and the silver hard tyre used, whilst the penultimate and final races will see the medium (white) and soft compounds in action.
In an unusual move, the soft tyre will be the prime tyre in India, whilst the hard will be the option, allowing for more running on the softer compound.
Pirelli’s motorsport director Paul Hembery commented: “India is a big unknown for all the teams and ourselves, so we will also be taking the most durable hard tyre in order to cover every base.
“Abu Dhabi is much more familiar territory for us, where we know that the medium and the soft tyre will suit the circuit well.
“As for Interlagos, we’re aiming to end the season on a high. The combination of medium and soft rubber has given us some close racing in the past, lots of overtaking and provided some good opportunities for interesting pit stop strategies.”
