2023 Formula 1 season: Drivers’ height and weight
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Ahead of the 2023 Formula 1 season, here you can see the height and weight of each driver on the grid.

A driver’s height and weight is important to F1 engineers as it can impact the performance of the car. Traditionally, shorter drivers are favoured as it allows for a more optimal package through airflow around the car.

The height differentials on the grid are quite large, with 27 centimetres separating the tallest and the smallest drivers in the 2023 field.

But which driver is the tallest? The honour is shared between Esteban Ocon and Alexander Albon, who both stand at 186 centimetres.

The smallest driver in the field is Yuki Tsunoda at 159 centimetres. The Japanese competitor is eight centimetres shorter than Nyck de Vries, who is his closest colleague in terms of height.

The weight is also important as ballast must be considered to meet requirements outlined by the FIA.

Nico Hulkenberg boasts as the heaviest driver in the field at 78kg, as well as being one of the tallest in the field. And despite being one of the tallest drivers, Esteban Ocon is one of the lightest on the grid.

Yuki Tsunoda is once again at the bottom of the list, as he holds the claim to both the shortest and lightest driver on the grid – likely making him the most pleasing driver to work with from an engineering point of view.
