Sergio Perez lead Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen in the first practice session of the weekend in a tightly contested session in which the top eight times were separated by just under half as second.
Perez’s benchmark of the session was just 0.004s faster than Leclerc’s fastest attempt with the 2022 champion Verstappen being 0.008s off his team-mate.

Ahead of the addition of the Sprint Race in this Sao Paulo Grand Prix weekend, Qualifying will take place later on today as drivers will battle it out for their grid positions for Saturday’s Sprint.
