The FIA has summoned Mercedes to a hearing in Qatar on Thursday in order to determine whether its right to review should be held.

Mercedes lodged a right to review on Tuesday regarding the incident between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen during the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.

Both drivers went off-track when Hamilton attempted to pass Verstappen at Turn 4 but while the incident was noted it was not passed on for the stewards to investigate.

It was revealed afterwards that Verstappen’s front-facing onboard was not available at the time, as the sole live feed from his car was broadcasting the rear-facing camera.

Mercedes’ request for a right to review was lodged in the wake of Formula 1 releasing Verstappen’s front-facing onboard.

A Mercedes team representative, and up to three witnesses if required, have been summoned to appear at a hearing at 17:00 local time on Thursday, ahead of the Qatar Grand Prix.

The hearing is to determine whether the Right of Review exists in this case, ie, whether a significant and relevant new element has been discovered which was unavailable to the parties at the time of the decision concerned.”

Representatives from Red Bull Racing have also been invited to attend the hearing.

Verstappen heads into this weekend’s antepenultimate event 14 points clear of Hamilton.

Previous Right to Reviews this year have been rejected by the FIA; Red Bull attempted to increase the sanction Hamilton received for the Silverstone clash while Aston Martin tried to argue against Sebastian Vettel’s exclusion from the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Hopefully, they will say “get on with it”. It was a rude, but racing incident, which was only carried out because Max is a rude driver – like Vettel used to be and Schumacher was. He had the room to go off track with minimum damage – knowing that Lewis would not risk a collision and had the room to avoid him.

The onboard shows Max clearly turning left, he drove in hard which changed the apex and he went wide. It’s a racing incident once you see the video of the steering wheel.

Not when you compare the position of his steering wheel compared to previous laps. Yes, he turned left, but nowhere nearly as much as he could and should have.

Is he a rude driver or a rude racist ??

They, meaning stewards for each weekend, have been trying to award the WDC to an anglo saxon driver the complete season. They have continually penalized Lewis Hamilton all season long trying to deny him the championship.

Before each race they have this drivers ceremony where they try to make a stand against racism, what a sham it is.

You’re right, it is a sham. It’s not about black lives mattering, it’s about some black lives mattering, specifically criminal black lives mattering. I’ve never seen Hamilton turn up in a David Dorn t-shirt, which would be a tribute to a genuine black hero, rather than a thug like Floyd.
