Mick Schumacher says he wants his Haas team-mate Nikita Mazepin to face consequences after their clash at the Dutch Grand Prix.
The pair made contact on Sunday as Schumacher moved to the right along the start/finish straight to overtake Mazepin.
Mazepin moved over to defend the inside line, which resulted in a damaged front wing and an early pit stop for Schumacher.
The incident occurred just one day after the pair were involved in a Q1 controversy during qualifying, in which Mazepin accused Schumacher of breaking intra-team agreements.
“It is OK to block, but to a certain extent,” Schumacher said of his race-day incident with Mazepin.
“If I had my front nose there, it’s a bit late to swerve and basically push me into the pit lane. I think I’m not the only driver he did that to today.
“I’m sure that a few people will have a look at it. Hopefully consequences will come into play into the future.”
Haas Team Principal Guenther Steiner confirmed after the race that the team held a meeting to review the incident.
With Schumacher shifting the blame to his team-mate, Steiner believes that no single driver was at fault for the collision.
“I would say there is not one to be blamed on this,” Steiner said. “We need to work on it, be constructive.
“We haven’t come to a conclusion, the plan is to meet before Monza and see what we can do to avoid this in the future. It doesn’t help anybody, I tried to explain that one. We will work on it. We will work on it until we get it sorted.
“I don’t think it [Mazepin’s manoeuvre] was a nasty move to be honest. I looked at the scenario and I mean, it takes always two to tango.”
