Five hours to go at Le Mans: GTE Pro drama ramps up
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

With five hours remaining of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, drama has ramped up in GTE Pro.

The #51 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE Evo, driven by Come Ledogar had a comfortable lead in class until it suddenly and unexpectedly was wheeled into the garage.

With Nick Catsburg pitting the second-placed #63 Corvette C8.R at the same time, the American squad looked set to take over the lead in class.

However, AF Corse almost immediately wheeled the #51 Ferrari back out again and Ledogar exited the pitlane before Catsburg, meaning that the Ferrari has maintained the lead in class. Catsburg, however, is closing in on Ledogar.

Neel Jani maintains third in class in the #92 Porsche 911 RSR-19, but is rapidly being caught by the #91 sister car driven by Fred Makowiecki.

Out front, the overall lead is still being led by the #7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid of Jose Maria Lopez, but Toyota has confirmed that the car is suffering from the same fuel-related problem that has been plaguing the #8 sister car.

That car remains in second in the hands of Sebastien Buemi, with Andre Negrao third in the #36 Alpine A480-Gibson.

Ferdinand Habsburg leads Yifei Ye in a continuing one-two for Team WRT, with Sean Gelael third for JOTA.

Francois Perrodo continues to lead GTE Am in the #83 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE Evo.
