Charles Leclerc has unveiled a new helmet livery that he will sport throughout the French Grand Prix weekend.

The design is inspired by the Marvel superhero Spider-Man, and is a colour scheme that he used during the early stages of his karting career.

Leclerc began karting in Brignoles, which is located closer to this weekend’s Circuit Paul Ricard than his home in Monaco.

“After 19 years I’m bringing back my first design from when I started karting near here,” Leclerc wrote on social media.

“I remember when I drew the design Spider-Man was on TV and I tried to make it look like his web. I’ve got many great memories from this part of my life, it will be special wearing it again.”

Leclerc enters the weekend in France having claimed pole position at the last two races in Monaco and Baku respectively.

However, the Monegasque driver believes that the upcoming weekend will be “more of a normal” scenario for his Ferrari team.

“It was really a surprise in Baku to be as competitive as we were, at least in qualifying, in the race it was a bit back to where we expected to be,” Leclerc said.

“I feel that it is going to be more of a normal weekend this weekend, on a normal track, not a city track. With a track like this, where there are a lot of medium speed corners, we are normally struggling a little bit more.

“I expect things to be more like the race in Baku. Hopefully I’m wrong, and we are much quicker than we thought.”
