Romain Grosjean has shown the scope of the burns he sustained to his hands at the Bahrain Grand Prix last year.
After making contact with Daniil Kvyat on the opening lap, the Frenchman collided with the barrier at the exit of Turn 3, which saw his Haas car immediately erupt into flames as it pierced the barrier and split in two.
Grosjean sat out the final two races of the year and underwent surgery on his left hand to repair ligament damage in his thumb and clean the burns.
Since the accident, Grosjean has been providing updates to his situation on social media, having arrived home in Switzerland ahead of the Sakhir Grand Prix.
Over six weeks after the crash occurred, he is no longer wearing bandages to cover his injuries, which he showcased on Twitter.
Grosjean was set to leave Haas at the end of the 2020 season, however the crash brought forward his departure.
In December of last year, the 34-year-old stated he was hopeful he would be able to take part in a private test with an F1 team to close out his career in the series – a scenario that reigning World Champions Mercedes indicated it is open to.
Grosjean has not yet indicated if he will return to racing in the future, but was considering a move to IndyCar prior to his accident.
