Organisers of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix have been granted permission by local authorities to allow over 13,000 spectators to attend the event each day.
Formula 1 will return to Imola after 14-year absence for a condensed two-day weekend on 31 October/1 November.
It will do so under the Emilia Romagna moniker, in deference to the region in which Imola is located, after the event previously held the San Marino name.
The event will be the third to take place in Italy in the coronavirus-hit 2020 campaign after rounds at Monza and Mugello.
No spectators were permitted to attend the opening seven rounds but a select group of doctors were present at Monza while up to 2,800 people per day were in the grandstands at Mugello.
Last weekend’s Russian Grand Prix had the largest attendance so far this season.
Organisers of the event, held at the Sochi Autodrom, said 30,000 spectators were present.
Fans are also set to be present at the Nurburgring, Portimao and Istanbul Park.
Officials in Bahrain have yet to determine spectator presence while it has already been confirmed that the season-ending Abu Dhabi round will be run behind closed doors.
Imola officials confirmed on Thursday that it has received final government approval to allow up to 13,147 people into the venue each day.
Access will only be permitted between 09:30 and 18:00 on each day, seats will be specifically assigned and masks must be worn at all times except when seated.
Temperature checks will also be undertaken upon entry to the venue.
Formula 1 drivers will only have one 90-minute practice session on Saturday, prior to qualifying and Sunday’s 63-lap race, rather than the customary three practice sessions.
