Haas drivers Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean say they expect discussions on their respective futures to commence shortly in the wake of the team committing to Formula 1.
Haas’ future in Formula 1 was questioned by team owner Gene Haas earlier in 2020 but last week it was confirmed that it had signed up to the new Concorde Agreement, which covers the 2021 to 2025 seasons.
Grosjean has been with Haas since it joined Formula 1 for the 2016 campaign while Magnussen joined a year later.
Only Mercedes has had an unchanged driver line-up for as long as Haas.
The team is one of only three – along with Alfa Romeo and AlphaTauri – yet to determine either of its drivers for the 2021 season.
“It’s been a busy time lately with all the triple headers and there’s another one now and also there hasn’t been a good reason to start talking drivers when the team’s future has been the main point to sort out,” said Magnussen.
“So I expect that there will start to be some talks from now on at some point so we will see about that.”
Grosjean added: “There aren’t that many seats available on the grid, so this is great news that Haas stays in Formula 1.
“Obviously it means it gives us a bit more opportunities and talks are going to happen at some stage but right now, 100 per cent honest, we just focus on the racing and just get the best we can.”
