Caca Bueno secured pole position for the penultimate race of the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY as the series’ Berlin finale continues.
The five-time Stock Car Brasil champion opened the 30-minute session with the fastest lap of the field of 12 drivers, shooting to the top spot immediately.
Alice Powell was the closest driver to Bueno’s initial 1:36.434s run before an improvement from Simon Evans saw the Kiwi slot into second, still 0.307s shy, later shaving off more time to be 0.150s adrift.
A later improvement from Bueno saw the Brazilian refine his lap time once more which tumbled to a 1:36.148s run, with Evans again gaining speed but still trailing by 0.136s.
While the pack continued to circulate around the Tempelhof Circuit, no was was able to truly match Bueno’s pace and as such, the driver took pole while Evans secured the runner-up spot.
A late session improvement from current championship leader Sergio Jimenez allowed the 36-year-old to slot into third place. He displaced Powell who was pushed down to fourth.
Australia’s Nick Foster failed to replicate his form from qualifying for the first four Berlin races by completing the top five as Gregory Segers took sixth,
Fahad Algosaibi took the Pro-Am pole with the seventh fastest time overall ahead of Adalberto Baptista. Takuma Aoki took ninth as the final Pro driver with Paul Spooner completing the top 10.
W Series star Jessica Hawkins made her debut in the Jaguar VIP entry to take 11th ahead of fellow guest Sven Forster who rounded out the grid.
