Today (Sunday) should have been the Monaco Grand Prix but local boy Charles Leclerc still ensured a Ferrari was hurtling around its streets.

Leclerc got behind the wheel of Ferrari’s SF90 Stradale early on Sunday morning to assist director Claude Lelouch with the shooting of the short film ‘Le Grand Rendez-vous’.

Leclerc reached speeds of up to 240km/h on the closed roads of the Principality on the date when the 2020 Monaco Grand Prix should have taken place.

The event was cancelled altogether due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Leclerc was joined at the film shoot by Prince Albert II of Monaco and Ferrari Chairman John Elkann.

The short film is due to be released on June 13.

Leclerc is due to be in virtual action, alongside younger brother Arthur, later on Sunday as part of Formula 1’s virtual grand prix series.
