The ACO has released the entry list for the 88th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, featuring 62 cars.
LMP1 features six cars, with two Toyotas, two Rebellions and two Ginettas. Notably absent from LMP1’s swansong is ByKolles, who had previously announced their intention to enter the closing round of the 2019/20 FIA World Endurance Championship.
The LMP2 category features 24 entries, with the vast majority of teams running the ORECA 07-Gibson. The WEC full-season entries are joined by a number of additional teams. IDEC Sport, G-Drive Racing and Eurointernational have been granted entry for their results in the European Le Mans Series.
Algarve Pro Racing, Rick Ware Racing and Nielsen Racing have been granted entry though Asian Le Mans Series championship victories, while IMSA regulars Performance Tech Motorsports have been granted a ticket because Cameron Cassels won the Jim Trueman Award.
The all-female Richard Mille Racing Team crew, comprised of Katherine Legge, Sophia Floersch and Tatiana Calderon has also been granted entry.
GTE Pro features 11 entries from four manufacturers: Aston Martin, Corvette, Ferrari and Porsche. Corvette Racing returns to Le Mans with the new C8.R, entering two cars. The #63 will be driven by Antonio Garcia, Jordan Taylor and Nick Catsburg, while Oliver Gavin, Tommy Milner and Marcel Fässler will pilot the #64 car. Porsche has the largest number of entries in the class with four as the IMSA squad has been entered with the #93 and #94 Porsche 911 RSR-19, joining the regular WEC squads.
Finally, GTE Pro features one additional entry as Risi Competizione will return to La Sarthe with the #82 Ferrari 488 GTE Evo, with French veterans Olivier Pla and Sebastien Bourdais listed as drivers.
GTE Am features a total of 20 entries. The regular WEC squad are joined by a number of one-off entries that have received an invitation from the ACO. Luzich Racing and Dempsey Proton Racing have been granted entry through ELMS results, while HubAuto Corsa has received a ticket after winning the GT class of the Asian Le Mans Series. JMW Motorsport has also received an entry thanks to Richard Heistand’s Bob Akin Award.
AF Corse enters a third Ferrari 488 GTE Evo alongside its two regulars WEC crews, while Weathertech Racing and Kessel Racing both also return. The all-female Iron Lynx squad, which ran last year under the Kessel banner, also returns as Manuela Gostner, Rahel Frey and Michelle Gatting pilot the #85 Ferrari 488 GTE Evo. GEAR Racing, which debuted at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January, is also entered with a Ferrari 488 GTE Evo, with Christina Nielsen listed as the only driver.
Garage 56, the entry reserved for innovative prokects and entrants, has been filled again this year. Association SRT41 will be entering the #84 ORECA 07-Gibson with a crew entirely consisting of disabled drivers.
Finally, the reserve list for the race features a number of notable entries which some might have expected to make the cut. This includes ByKolles’ #4 ENSO CLM P1/01-Gibson, the second ORECA for High Class Racing which was supposed to feature an all-Danish line-up led by veteran Jan Magnussen and the second entry for Dragonspeed USA for Ben Hanley, Henrik Hedman and IndyCar ace Felix Rosenqvist.
